Here are Pastor Dan’s Message Notes for tonight:
The Wheat and the Tares. Matthew 13:24-30.
DOCTRINES OF CHRIST. Hebrews 6
Completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity.
- Abandonment of dead works
- Laying on of hands
- Resurrection from the dead
- Eternal judgment and punishment.
Those teachings we need to establish so that we can move on.
It is impossible to restore and bring again to repentance those who have :
- Once been enlightened
- Consciously tasted of the heavenly gift
- Have become sharers of the Holy Spirit
- Have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers of the age and the world to come.
- Then deviate
If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from the allegiance— it is impossible to bring them back to Repentance — (the basics or number one in the rudimentary fundamentals.)
If people then deviate from the faith (or the pursuit of advanced teachings) and their allegiance they are in fact nailing Jesus on the cross afresh. They are, in fact, holding the Son of God up to contempt and shame and public disgrace.
For soil that once produced useful fruit now only produces thorns and weeds then it won’t be long before it is burned up.
It is here that the author of Hebrews turns to words of encouragement. He first lays the criticism out there. He, like Jesus, in the book of Revelations states what ought he has and then he encourages.
“We are convince of better things of you and are truly convinced of your victory in salvation. My God, your God, our God is not unjust and He will remember the labor of love that you have demonstrated and the struggle that you have endured to minister to the saints.”
I just want to take the opportunity to remind you “Not to be weary in well doing.” Don’t be sluggish in your spirituality at this point in time, for you are about to reap immense blessings. Many have gone before you and quit at this very point and it is my prayer for you that you will not quit, but that you will press through to the fullness of the inheritance that has been laid up for you —
Listen carefully — imitate those who have patiently put their faith in the promises of God and have endured hardship. Follow those who follow hard after Christ. Listen carefully for those who “absolutely trust God and wait for His person and His power to manifest” as they patiently endure persecution and struggle while inheriting the promise.
Never forget the words of Jesus. “The hundredfold will come, with persecution.”
Persecution is part of the package, producing results — still, the purging and the pruning are painful. Go through the pain and get to the gain.
