Out of the Abundance of the Heart

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. I have come to give you life and that more abundantly, but the thief he comes to steal, to kill and to destroy.

When I come upon someone who is stuck in a rut, struggling for whatever reason — it is not for me to judge them it is for me to “restore such an one in the spirit of meekness.” It is for me to get down into the fray and do all that I can to restore this individual without diminishing them in any way. “In the spirit of meekness.” Meekness is best understood as gentleness and true equality. When you see yourself and you see God in the person you are engaging, something happens … You don’t condescend. You won’t shame. You simply restore such an one. And this restoration is far greater than just getting them from the gutter to the hospital bed. It takes them from “seeing themselves as a person who made a mistake, to a person worthy of support and even greater – capable of paying this kindness forward.”

Again, I am only whetting the whistle — teasing you to inquire more.

We are going to change the world for the better. No one can do it alone.

Now, in a world where individuals will scour your social media profile in an effort to disqualify you, remember that Jesus is the great qualifier. He is the author and finisher of your second chance. And as His servant and love slave, I say to you “I will do all that I can to qualify you to your high calling, no matter what …”.

You are deeply loved and we need you back in the fray.
